Willam G. Ridenour ’66

Bill an Arizona native, was born in Safford and raised in Kingman. He came to the U of A in 1963 and joined Arizona Beta. He was actively involved in the fraternity by serving as it’s President from 1965-66. He was also involved on campus, serving as ASUA Student Senate and ASUA President from 1965-66. As an alumnus, he is still actively involved with UA Foundation, Children’s Steel Research Center, UA Law School Association, Arizona State Museum, UA Alumni Association, UA Phoenix Alumni Association, and Advocats.

After graduating in 1966 with a B.A., Bill went to Rutgers University to get his M.A with highest distinction in 1967. He then came back to U of A and received his J.D. in 1970. Before he formed his own law firm in 1980; served on the National Office of Republican Congressional Committee, aid to Senator Paul Fannin, aid to Senator Barry Goldwater, and worked as Partner for Gust Rosenfeld Divelhess and Henderson. He is currently the Managing Member of Ridenour Hienton & Lewis., P.L.L.C.  His practice emphasizes transactional, banking and corporate law.

Brother Ridenour’s is a member of the American, Arizona and Maricopa County Bar Associations. He is a Founder for the Arizona Bar Foundation and served as Judge Pro Tem of the Maricopa County Superior Court from 1980-87. Banking clients include: JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. as investment manager for the Arizona State Compensation Fund and the Arizona State Retirement System, Mellon Bank, Sears Bank, and Farm Credit Services Southwest to name a few. He represented financial institutions numerous savings and loan associations including: Greater Arizona Savings and Loans Association, Pima Savings & Loan Association, Sun State Savings & Loan Association, Primerit Savings & Loan Association, and Union Savings & Loan Association.  All of the above associations were liquidated in Arizona in the late 1980s and he then represented the Resolution Trust Corporation and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Away from work, Bill serves on the board of March of Dimes, Arizona Nurses Foundation and Scottsdale Museum of the West.

Bill and his wife Joey have three children, Stacey, Tyson, and Bill Jr. (who passed away in 2009).
