Frank Rauscher ’65

Brother Rauscher joined the chapter in 1963. While in school, he was the Sports Editor for the U of A Yearbook in 1965. He graduated in 1965 with a BS in Finance and went to earn his MS in Banking at University of Washington in 1975.

After graduating, he served as Alumni President of the House Corporation from 1967-1972 and helped manage the financial crisis when 40% of the house residents quit when marijuana was banned from the house. During this time, he also helped refurbish the entire living and dining areas.

Frank is the Senior Principal at Aquinas Associates in Dallas, Texas. “Aquinas Associates is a leading consultant on social research and change for Catholic institutional and high net worth investors. We do not manage money. We do work with all types of asset managers, financial advisers, and investors who wish to integrate Catholic social criteria into their investment decisions. We have a proven track record of change in issues such as abortion, contraception, gender and race discrimination, pornography, environment, human rights, access to pharmaceuticals, sustainability, and affordable housing.” Prior to this, he served as President and CEO for Aquinas Investment Advisers, Aquinas Mutual Fund, American Federal Bank and First Gibraltar Bank.

Brother Rauscher has been a leading innovator for the past 25 years in the finance/banking world. To list a few highlights: COO of the #1 rated bank in the US in 1986; Created the first bank ATM program where the bank card could be used at other bank ATM’s; Created the first bank rewards program tied to a debit card; Created the plastic American Express Gold Card. For his dedication, Frank has received recognition and served on many boards over the years. He received the First Interstate Bank Award for introducing Simple Interest loans to all consumers in Arizona and American Federal Bank Leadership Award in 1993. He co-authored the first American Bankers Association policy on Electronic Banking. He served as President of American Institute of Banking for Tucson, Phoenix, and Dallas.

Frank is actively involved in his community. He served as President of Phoenix Better Business Bureau, Director of Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Assistant Scoutmaster for the largest troop in the US for Boy Scouts of America, and received the Catholic Foundation Leadership Award.

He and his wife Vicki live in Plano, Texas and they have two children, Blake and Grant.
